John Harlow, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Services for preteens, adolescents, and adults
About Me
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and have been since 1999. Over those years, I worked in a variety of settings, serving a number of roles. For the last decade plus, I have been a therapist in private practice. As I have since the start of my career, I see adults of all ages while also specializing in services for preteens and adolescents. Finally, because mine is a general practice, I am familiar with a wide range of mental issues that might affect one's school, work, family, or relationship life.
Services
Individual Therapy
I consider the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of good therapy. From there, I consider each case on an individual basis, drawing from the psychodynamic, humanist, family systems, and cognitive-behavioral orientations as needed.
Parental Guidance Counseling
This is a form of family therapy where I meet with the care-givers of the preteens and adolescents I work with. The purpose is to increase the parent's understanding of their child's mental health issues so they can best parent in light of them.
